Mental health information essay for English class
1. Informative Essay (500 words) Due: Friday, February 18th, 2022
a. Choose a topic that you are interested in and would like to learn more about to research i. Topics must be grade level appropriate and relevant to modern day
ii. When in doubt, ask Mr. Deery
iii. Essays should include AT LEAST three (3) sources to support the
information that you have found. b. Must be 5 paragraphs
i. Intro needs a clear Thesis outline exactly what you are going to be presenting in your essay; as well as what information that you will be presenting in your body paragraphs.

Body paragraphs should have research-based information that you
provide citation for.

Be sure to introduce the information
Cite textual evidence to support the information
Then provide an explanation of the information what does it mean, what does it relate to; as well as what other conclusions you can draw from the information.
Must have transition sentences between body paragraphs
v. Conclusion must sum up your findings AND be a clear ending to your paper.

d. Must be free of Capitalization and subject verb agreement mistakes
i. Any lower case i used will result in immediately losing 5 points for each one. ii. All words at the start of new sentences must be capitalized
iii. All proper nouns must be properly capitalized
iv. All informal nouns must NOT be capitalized
e. Must stay consistent in your verb tense (present, past, future, conditional…etc.)
f. Must use Sentence variations
i. Simple, Compound, Complex, Compound-Complex
g. Must have transition words
i. In addition, Furthermore, However, Therefore, Also, Firstly, Secondly, Thirdly, Finally, Whereas, While, Accordingly, Consequently, As a result, …etc.
